Two days ago, this petite little boy's story could have gone very differently. His owners were being evicted and giving him away for free on Craigslist — to anyone. Thankfully, Trapper Lyndsay Lynn was already in the area, moved fast, and intercepted him before the wrong hands ever got the chance. Talk about quick acting. Talk about a miracle. He's safe now, and we couldn't be more grateful.

Oreo Speedwagon is sweet, gentle, and — as he showed us right away with resident kitty Levi — he absolutely loves other cats. He came to us unvetted and underweight, but that's already being taken care of. A same-day stop at our cousin's vet clinic got him his shots and our rescue microchip, and this afternoon he heads to a foster home that will make sure he is properly fed, fussed over, and fattened up exactly the way he deserves.

Now about that name. The original owners called him Oreo. Ugh — so many black and white cats are named Oreo. Here's the thing though: without even knowing he already had a name, we went down a rabbit hole looking up names for black and white kitties. And out of nowhere, the most perfect name came up. We weren't even planning to use it — until we heard what they'd named him. Well. We had to do it. Oreo Speedwagon was born, and honestly? It suits him completely.

This little boy is petite, precious, and full of potential. He is heading into foster care to grow, thrive, and get ready for the home he deserves — and someone out there is going to be very lucky to get him.
